1. Wake up early and work on things.
You don't need to start checking emails at 6:00am. However, studies have shown that by waking up earlier, people achieve more. Wake up early, take time getting ready, get some small housework done or finish up small details on the project. You don't need to start off running in the morning, but by waking up early and starting to check off items on your list will help you feel more accomplished early on.
2. Keep a to-do list everyday.
Establishing a to-do list with deadlines will help you prioritize and know what needs to be done earlier than others. It will also remind you about some other smaller projects, like go to the store and buy milk. The to-do list is for every aspect of your life.
3. Get sleep.
It's difficult to get enough sleep, but your body depends on those eight hours of rest to be able to get going the next day.
4. Know your body.
Some people work at their best in the early morning or late at night. Know your work habits and adjust as so. When you aren't at your working best, do minor tasks, and then save the harder more time consuming tasks when you know you're at your best.
5. Have fun.
Have fun. Seems like a simple idea, but there are times when it is not so simple. It's important to work your hardest, but take some time to take a break and have a little fun. When you are in your office that may look like stepping away from the computer and going into the break room for coffee and conversation with a coworker. If you're happy and not burnt out, then your work will reflect it.
